One thing that normally confuses persons is that the majority of serial motorists will reset the configurations into the defaults as soon as the device is shut (i.e. no system has the device open up any more). So the above mentioned stty command will set the configurations, then when it's finished the motive force resets them yet again.Stéphane Ch
